Leo Minor

Leo Minor, a constellation nestled within the northern celestial hemisphere, is more easily visible from northern latitudes and is most prominently seen during the spring months in the Northern Hemisphere.

History

Leo Minor was first charted by Johannes Hevelius, the Polish astronomer, in the 17th century. it derives its name from Latin, translating to "the smaller lion." In astronomical depictions, it is often portrayed as a diminutive lion or a lion cub when compared to its larger neighbor, Leo, which represents a full-grown lion.

Leo Minor’s brightest star, 46 Leonis Minoris or Praecipua, still maintains a relatively dim luminosity compared to other celestial luminaries.
