Cetus II

Cetus II, an ultra-faint dwarf satellite galaxy, exhibits exceptionally low luminosity and compact size, making it nearly two orders of magnitude fainter than globular clusters with comparable radii. This satellite galaxy is positioned at a heliocentric distance of 30 kpc. Cetus II would benefit from more observations with the lack of distinct features in the color-magnitude distribution leading to a significant degeneracy between distance, age, and metallicity. While it could potentially be the least luminous known galaxy, caution is advised until further studies are conducted due to gaps in coverage and the need for additional imaging to refine its properties.
