Columba I

Columba I is positioned as the second most distant candidate within the Dark Energy Survey data and appears as a concentrated cluster hosting RGB stars. Its distinguishable features include a well-populated BHB and RHB. Positioned at a considerable distance of 182 kpc, this system showcases physical dimensions spanning 103 parsecs. These characteristics align within the classification typical of Local Group dwarf galaxies, akin to entities like Leo IV and CVn II as observed in prior studies. Notably, Columba I exists in isolation from the other novel Dark Energy Survey systems, signifying it is less likely associated with the Magellanic system.
