Draco II

Draco II

The Draco II dwarf, recently discovered in the Pan-STARRS1 3Pi survey, is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. Although individual measurements of the member stars do not decisively classify Draco II as a star cluster or dwarf galaxy, the collective evidence suggests it is among the faintest, most compact, and closest dwarf galaxies. This makes Draco II an attractive target for studying the faint end of galaxy formation and for searches related to indirect dark matter detections.
