Horologium I

Horologium I

Horologium I is an ultra-faint dwarf spheroidal galaxy orbiting within the gravitational bounds of the Milky Way. Discovered in 2015, this galaxy lies in the Horologium constellation. Its distance from Earth is estimated to be around 78,000 light-years. Horologium I is characterized by its extremely faint luminosity, making it a challenging astronomical target. Its stellar population is primarily composed of ancient stars, hinting at an early formation period. The galaxy's size, low luminosity, and stellar content align with the characteristics typical of dwarf spheroidal galaxies.
