Sextans Dwarf

The Sextans Dwarf Galaxy is a faint and small satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, located in the constellation Sextans. Discovered in 1990, this dwarf spheroidal galaxy is part of the Local Group, a cluster of galaxies that includes the Milky Way and Andromeda. The Sextans Dwarf is situated approximately 280,000 light-years away from Earth. Like many dwarf galaxies, it exhibits characteristics such as a predominantly old stellar population, low luminosity, and a lack of recent star formation. Studies of its stellar content have provided insights into its metallicity distribution, offering clues about the galaxy's chemical evolution over time.
