Tucana IV

Tucana IV

Tucana IV is an ultra-faint satellite dwarf galaxy corresponding to a physical size of approximately 127 pc at a distance of 48 kpc. Its size deviates from known globular clusters, supported by a measured ellipticity consistent with a galactic classification. Positioned 27 kpc from the Large Magellanic Cloud and 18 kpc from the Small Magellanic Cloud, Tucana IV is proposed as a member of the Tucana group, with a centroid separation of 7 kpc. The determination of radial velocity and proper motion will provide crucial clues about its accretion history. Much like other dwarf galaxies, for instance, Tucana IV exhibits a well-populated and clearly visible main-sequence turnoff, with additional member stars observed along the horizontal branch.
