Named after the Greek goddess Euphrosyne, one of the three Graces representing joy, charm, and mirth, this asteroid has garnered attention due to its unique characteristics. Euphrosyne is notable for its potential to be a dormant or extinct comet, suggesting a history of volatile activity. It possesses an estimated diameter of about 260 kilometers (162 miles) and orbits the Sun at an average distance of around 397 million kilometers (247 million miles).
