9969 Braille

Asteroid 9969 Braille is a celestial object located in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Discovered on February 24, 1992, by Japanese astronomers at the Kitami Observatory in Hokkaido, Japan, it was named in honor of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille reading and writing system for the visually impaired. Asteroid 9969 Braille orbits the Sun and completes one orbit approximately every 4.7 Earth years. The probe Deep Space 1 performed a flyby of Braille, however a malfunction in the camera resulted in a blurry image.
