2002 AW₁₉₇

Discovered recently in 2002, 2002 AW₁₉₇ is a candidate dwarf planet that resides in the Kuiper Belt. Not much is known about the candidate, as only observations from ground-based telescopes have gathered light from the surface. Based on spectroscopic measurements of 2002 AW₁₉₇, the surface is not expected to contain water ice, unlike the surface on Quaoar. More information is expected to be gathered about 2002 AW₁₉₇ in the future.
