Remus

The moon Remus orbits the main-belt asteroid 87 Sylvia, and it was discovered on February 18, 2001, by a team of astronomers using the Keck II telescope in Hawaii. Along with its sibling moon Romulus, Remus is part of a unique and interesting double asteroid system. Remus is the smaller of the two moons, with an estimated diameter of about 7 kilometers. Its discovery added to our understanding of multiple asteroid systems and their complex dynamics.
