Actaea

Actaea was discovered in 2006 by astronomers Keith S. Noll, Harold Levison, Denise Stephens and Will Grundy using the Hubble Space Telescope. This moon, with an estimated diameter of approximately 284 kilometers (176 miles), orbits Salacia at a relatively close distance of around 5,700 kilometers (3,500 miles). Named after a Nereid nymph, Actaea is associated to the rocky shores of beaches. Actaea’s nearly circular orbit around Salacia suggests a relatively stable history within the Salacia-Actaea system.
