Leda

Leda

Leda is a small irregular moon of Jupiter, discovered in 1974 by American astronomer Charles T. Kowal. With an estimated diameter of about 16 kilometers (10 miles), Leda follows a distant and highly eccentric orbit around Jupiter. Little is known about its physical characteristics, composition, or surface features due to its small size and distance from Earth. Leda's irregular shape and orbital behavior align it with the group of irregular moons associated with Jupiter, potentially suggesting a common origin through collisions or captured asteroids.
