Hydra

Hydra was discovered in 2005 through observations using the Hubble Space Telescope. This moon is relatively modest in size, boasting an estimated diameter of about 43 kilometers (27 miles), and it orbits Pluto at an average distance of roughly 64,700 kilometers (40,200 miles) from the dwarf planet. Its name, Hydra, derives from the mythological serpent-like creature with multiple heads known for their regenerative abilities in Greek mythology. In terms of its orbital dynamics, Hydra, like its peers, resides in a 3:2 orbital resonance with Charon, contributing to the intricate gravitational choreography of the Pluto-Charon system.
