Styx

Styx was discovered in 2012 through Hubble Space Telescope observations. This small moon, with an estimated diameter of about 16 kilometers (10 miles), orbits Pluto at a distance of approximately 42,000 kilometers (26,000 miles). Its name, Styx, is drawn from Greek mythology, representing the river that separates the realms of the living and the dead. While limited data is available about Styx's surface and composition, it is believed to be primarily composed of water ice, like Pluto and its other moons. Styx, Nix, and Hydra, Pluto's other small moons, are in a 3:2 orbital resonance with Charon, contributing to the stability of their orbits over extended periods.
