Vanth

Vanth was discovered in 2005 by astronomers led by Michael E. Brown and T.-A. Suer using the Hubble Space Telescope. This moon, with an estimated diameter of approximately 443 kilometers (275 miles), orbits Orcus at a relatively close distance of around 9,500 kilometers (5,900 miles). Named after a figure from Etruscan mythology, Vanth is associated with guiding souls to the afterlife. Vanth's nearly circular orbit around Orcus suggests a relatively stable history within the Orcus-Vanth system.
